On February 5 2019, Mathews Kapanda started his own real estate outfit and branded it Atsogo Estate Agent. He has been at its helm ever since as managing director.
He recalls: "I had, after graduation, found myself on the same boat as thousands of other jobless youths. But I had to survive so with my inborn marketing skills I started advertising real estate items via my page and got commissions thereafter."
Kapanda told MalawiHeat that even before he officially registered his company, he had always wanted "to manage properties for sale and rent in an effective and profitable way."
The Mzuzu University (Mzuni) graduate of estate management says five years later his company is making headway progress.
"Our commitment is always to strive for the best as far as our customers are concerned because that is why we ventured into the business in the first place.
"We have tried to be absolutely honest with our customers, and it has proved to be a significant plus for our firm," he said relaxingly in his swivel chair at his Area 47/4/722 office on Mazengera street, gate No 25, in Malawi's capital Lilongwe.
Recently, Mathews Kapanda was also in the press after his Atsogo Estate Agent is said to have achieved a 97 percent customer satisfaction mark following a survey.
According to him, now that his firm is serving both local and international clients, there is no room for compromise on quality of service delivery.
"On average we get about ten properties in a week which our clients want us to manage for them, and usually they are all sold out within the very same week.
"I believe that doing a good job for one client is in itself a massive advert to twenty other customers. We remain the hope to all property seekers," said Kapanda who can be reached on +265 888 052 362.
