Malawi new super movie, 'Justice', premiers April 1

Malawi Heat

It is a cross-cutting story about abuse of power and corruption. It is a story that revolves around the human trafficking narrative that has become the talk of the day in our societies. While it is a captivating, mind-boggling story, it is also a movie titled 'Justice'.

And, according to Magic Promotions managing director as well as one of Justice's producers, Brazio Mathias Kanyong'o, the movie's tease trailer premieres on April 1, 2024 at 7: 30 pm.

"Malawi is, day by day, progressing in as far as movie production is concerned. And that is what Malawians should expect from Justice. The new movie does not only offer aesthetic content but also tackles some hard-hitting themes embedded in our societies," Kanyong'o, who has divulged that the movie's cost is at K11 million, says.

He adds: "Magic Promotions, through Justice, is raising awareness about human trafficking and creating a platform where the general public will understand and appreciate the role that the arts play in the fight against human trafficking in Malawi."

Justice, a story that revolves around a young girl trafficked into exploitation and slavery, stars, among others, such celebrities as Joyce Chavula and Dorothy Shonga and has Adam Ogam and Bester Kauwa as directors.

The driver who trafficks the girl works under a syndicate of the Inspector General of Police and other prominent business people. A journalist joins the fray as an undercover to unearth the truth about the case. But he hits the wall facing resistance from her station manager.

Just as the police seem to be making progress, things take an ugly turn. Secrets are laid bare, old closets are opened and some lives are at the edge of the cliff. Will justice prevail?

Actually, Kanyong'o states, the movie highlights the issue from a bird's eye view.

"After the premiere, the movie will be available for streaming on the Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA)’s YouTube channel," Kanyong'o says
