The outgoing coach of the Malawi national football team, Mario Marinica has poured his anger on football fans in the country by lebeling them uncivilised.

In an interview with BBC, the Dutch tactician said that Malawians were supporting opponents like Egypt instead of rallying behind their team, the flames.

"I've never come across rude fans like these. They don't wish well for themselves." quoted Marinica in a separate interview.

"Malawians have this inferior complexion about themselves and no one is going to take that off them but themselves.", continued the coach.

Coach Mario Marinica was hired as technical director in 2021 but later on replaced Meke Mwase as head coach for the flames.

During his tenure, Marinica helped Flames to reach round of 16 at African Cup of Nations for the first time ever.

He was sacked by the football governing body in the country amid pressure from the public after being thrashed by Egypt 4-0 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
