Human Rights Activists Arge Tougher Action as Influencer VJ Ken Faces Court Over Alleged Relationship with a Minor

Human rights activists in the country have asked the court to be more hard on social media influencer VJ Ken, who is in a cooler for allegedly being in a forceful relationship with a minor.

On Tuesday, 18th November 2025, social media platforms were set ablaze with the news that moral behaviour activist and social media influencer VJ Ken real name Kenneth Makina was apprehended for abducting 15 year old girl and sleep with her.

According to Ndirande police station, the victim ( her name withheld) is a standard 6 student who went missing for several days until last Monday when the close friends confided to her mother that the daughter was being forcefully kept at the well known videographer's apartment in Ndirande.

Upon being questioned by the law enforcing agancies, both the suspect and the victim accepted that the disgrace incident happened and both are supposed to appear before magistrate today,  Friday, 21st November.

Meanwhile a section of human rights defenders have pleaded with the court no to be lenient with the 30 year old suspect but to be hard on him arguing that Ken has always pretended in public as some who has the affairs of young girls at heart yet in private he is a monster and dangerous.

Among the activists, is Young People Organisation (YPO) leader, Undule Baigusi  who made the remarks through the press release. The argument has attracted mixed reactions from general public with the majority siding with Baigusi.
