Dr Joram
He is a rare personality that is festooned with a myriad gifts. Doubt it? Well, take your time one working day in Lilongwe, you will find him in the thick of medical stuff – stethoscope hanging around his neck, assisting his patients at PIH Medical Centre.

And weekends? Either he is composing his next hit-song, or reading good fiction or he is enjoying a drink with some of his buddies.

That is Dr. Joram—born Joram Nyirongo.

He is not only a good doctor but a talented musician. He did his medical studies at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), formerly the College of Medicine (COM) where he obtained his MBBS.

As a musician, Joram says he journey begun when he was still quite young. Anyone who has taken time to listen to his soothing tunes will admit that Dr. Joram’s creativity is second-to-none.

Listen, for example, to such songs as 'Mr. Politician', 'Linda', 'Ce Soir', 'Broken Heart', 'Ufulu', 'Aisha' and 'The Lord is Almighty', you will curse yourself for having wasted your time on half-baked stuff.

To-date has two albums, namely '1987' and 'Serious Decisions'. In 2021, Dr. Joram made K10 million from sales of his '1987' album. In 2022, Dr. Joram launched a three-year strategic plan to guide his activities in the music industry from 2023 to 2026. His songs are available on various streaming platforms, including Spotify, Boomplay Music, Viberate.com, YouTube, Apple Music, and many others.

Yesterday, Dr. Joram released another thought-provoking song titled 'State of the Nation Address (SONA)', which addresses the disparities in development between African countries and Western countries.

The song, available on YouTube and other major streaming platforms, was produced by DJ Sley in Lilongwe. The musician expressed his concern about the stark contrast between Africa's development and that of the Western world.

"I am truly concerned to see Africans living in grass-thatched houses without electricity, yet technological advancements exist to change our livelihood," he said.
