Mibawa television Managing Director John Nthakomwa has revealed the Station's success in covering AFCON qualifiers is a result of massive investment much as resources are concerned.
Nthakomwa made the remarks after his Station greatly impressed with beaming of two games involving Malawi and Ethiopia, and another one of Ethiopia and Egypt respectively, where both games were played at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
"Covering of these games is a dream that started our journey in live football production."
"It has not been by chance that CAF selected our Station to telecast its 2023 AFCON qualifiers," explained Nthakomwa.
Nthakomwa added on to say the success has not just come from the blues as it has taken four years to penetrate because football production is probably one of the most expensive television productions in terms of resources and as well human resources.
He further disclosed that CAF pumped in US$ 20 000 (20 million kwacha) for each match that was used by Supersport and other foreign [television] stations.
Mibawa television has for the recent time become a household name much as its programming is concerned.
It has also been there for local football fraternity with coverages of the country's prestigious [TNM] Super League.
