Celebrated musician Phungu Joseph Nkasa has said he strongly regrets having worked for politicians, saying the latter are “the most ungrateful” creatures on earth.

Nkasa said in a talk show programme on ZBS TV, hosted by Joab Frank Chakhaza, which MalawiHeat.com monitored that given a chance he wouldn’t dare work with politicians again.

He said: “I have worked with them but at no point has any of them ever called to say a simple thank you. They have actually ruined my career to the extent that, as of now, I am a spent force.”

Nkasa who rose to stardom following the release of his music albums Wayenda Wapenga and Tigwirane Manja, worked out praise songs for Presidents Bingu wa Mutharika, Joyce Banda and Peter Mutharika.

In the songs, he named Bingu Moses – after the biblical Moses – and Peter was named after the biblical Joshua.

“Now, I have peace. I deleted all their numbers, and I am living comfortably. For the future, I can only leave it in the hands of the Almighty God,” said Nkasa.
