Football fans in the country have expressed extreme disappointment
following the Football Association of Malawi’s gesture to offer a sum of one
hundred thousand kwacha only condolence
money at late National Team head coach, Eddie Ngonamo’s funeral service.
The service that took place in Dowa, saw some individuals
including the State President, Lazarus Chakwera and Super League Association of
Malawi (SULOM) aspiring president, Fleetwood Haiya donating almost 1 million
kwacha combined.
Some institution also participated in the kind act including
Kalibu Acadamy School, Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanders.
But, there was great booing all over the place when announcement was made that FAM has offered condolence money amount to one hundred kwacha at a funeral at its former employee.
‘Eddie was a former Flames coach, it was a great insult towards
him and his legacy for FAM to do that’, said one funeral service attendee.
Eddie Ngonamo, was a 0former head coach of Mighty Mukuru
Wanders and Nyasa Big Bullets. He also coached National Team, the flames before
he was found dead at his house in Blantyre.
