Gwamba's audacity to dream big and take risky steps to make his dreams a reality, will forever be written in the history books of Malawian music.  He has changed the landscape of what is possible for local hip-hop act to achieve. He has again filled up an open sports complex.

The vernacular hip hip star successfully launched his True Indipendence album at a fully packed Blantyre Sports Club with tickets sold out 4 hours before the show. This is first of its kind in Blantyre for a paid hip-hop concert to attract such patronage.

In the lead up to the event, the Major 1 Records signee admitted that he was struggling to find sponsorship, but he still wouldn’t back down. A few weeks ago though, Airtel Malawi came through, and he had a bit of a leg up.

Fans who were there were in awe of the stage design. The pictures on social media are enough to see why though. The lighting, big screens and sponsors' ads were all perfect.

From fans to celebrities and big brands, everyone wanted Duncan to win. Fellow celebrities went on Twitter to congratulate the rapper and show pride in his work. These include Piksy, Charisma, Kelly Kay just to mention but a few.

Malinga Mafia, Eli Njuchi, Piksy, Blackafella and Masavega were some of the acts that awestruck the fans with their sets.

Gwamba is also the first local hip hop artist to fill up  Mzuzu Stadium for a paid show.

The show was wrapped up with performance by South African hip-hop giant, Emetee.
