A Sixteen-year-old Peace Dickson, also known for his stage name Pesty C, has hanged himself after being criticised for alleged stealing behaviour.
According to Blantyre police the incident happened on Sunday evening, April 24, 2022 at Manase township in Blantyre.
Sergeant Aubrey Singanyama, who is the Blantyre Police spokesperson narrates that
on the mentioned day at around 10:00hrs, Dickson was reprimanded by his aunt whom he was staying with for his alleged stealing behaviour and was warned that he will be reported to Police if he continues.
This did not sit well with Dickson who later went to his bedroom and hanged himself.
After discovering the tragedy, his relations reported the matter to Manase Police Unit where officers rushed to the scene and took the body to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where death was pronounced upon arrival.
Meanwhile, the body is at QECH Mortuary pending postmortem.
Police have since advised the public to refrain from committing suicide as a solution to misunderstandinga and problems in life but rather should seek help and counseling from individuals and relevant offices including Police's Victim Support Units across the country.
Late Peace Dickson hailed from Njobvu village in Traditional Authority Changata in Thyolo District.
