Meet Nelson Chris Matanga
We First spotted this handsome fashionable young man on Instagram were  He stood out from the crowd simply because of his fashion. So you know we had to get a quick interview. He was born and raised in Blantyre, Malawi, but currently he is living in Salzburg Australia. He will soon be relocating to Blantyre to start up his own bar/lounge business. So look out for that folks! A side from Fashion, Chris tells us that he is a great cook. He loves to cook good food. Infact, he would spend hours in the kitchen with his mother trying out different recipes. Ooh and He insists he is  not a fan of fast food.

MalawiHeat: have you always been into fashion or is this something you picked up along the way?

Chris Matanga: This whole modelling fashion things started way back in secondary school when I and my friends had an outfit called “makobidi and company” and we used to organised events throughout the year, miss  schools Blantyre, miss valentine and miss independence,id also take part in some fashion show and I recall escorting contestants at the miss Malawi beauty pageant.
While I was doing my diploma in hotel management at the institute of tourism I won the Mr tourism crown and while on that need I say am currently the Face of Africa Austria,a crown I won in July.

How would you describe your own personal style?
To describe my personal  style, id say quite professional but trendy and  am actually a fan of “less is more” and I tend to mix and match mostly,as they say “style is the way to say who you are without having to speak and simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance

Where do you find your fashion inspiration from?
Where I find my inspiring, for me Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only, fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening around us.

What is 1 fashion item that's your must have/ or a must have for all men
A definite must have for me and one id recommend is a watch, this is the only piece of jewelry any man really needs, a timepiece, like shoes can say a lot about a man's personality and fashion sense.
What are Some fashion do's and donts?

On do’s and don’ts, I can simply say know the type of clothes that suits you and stick to that but don’t try and become someone-else, have a signature outfit and rock it and yes I have noted at Malawian weddings men turning up in baggy pants, untidy shirts and all, dress up for the occasion, better being over dressed than under dressed.

Favorite celeb styles?
Lastly on favourite styles,I certainly respect our own Malawian kliff culture chimseu,he does have his way of “killing it” id say, Davidson Petit Frere also does catch my attention and someone whom people say is my lookalike Dj Xclusive.
