set to be brand ambassador for two of the world’s major motor companies – Nissan and Toyota – during the Johannesburg International Motor Show this month, has said the development has earned her a top of the world feeling.
“It’s
a huge development,” said Thembi. “And I’m so happy.”
Thembi,
who is also Malawi Fashion Week Model 2013, said she got the offer after one of
her agents linked her up.
“I have an agent who
emailed me the job description and asked if she could send my pictures through,
I said fine! I was then called for casting, which was in Johannesburg; I booked
out of Cape Town to JHB just for the casting!
“It was a risk, but I believe modeling is a gamble; you have to throw the
dice and see where it will fall on! I aced the casting and got a booking email
from my agent a little less than two weeks after that, the client loved me and
I need to keep these dates open!,” She said.
The show, slated for 18 to 27 October, is one of the biggest
shows in the world.
Thembi, a student in South Africa, will arguably become one of the few Malawian models to participate in international shows.
