High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa, Stella Ndau has encouraged diaspora community to invest in Malawi.
Speaking at Diaspora Engagement Meeting organised by her office in South Africa, Ndau said that in order Malawi to achieve her 2030 agenda, people working outside the country especially those in South Africa must start investing back home now.
“We have so many opportunities to tap into back home. There are great opening in Energy, Tourism and Agriculture that need people like you to invest back at home. As a Mission, we are here to help you achieve that and with help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we are making great progress for those that have already engaged us,” Mrs Ndau said.
In 2017, the Government of Malawi, implemented Diaspora Engagement Policy (DEP) purposed to motivate citizens living in other countries to start home investments.
In attendance, were Diplomats and other citizens working and running businesses in South Africa.
