Legendary musician Soldier Lucius Banda—who recently opened up about his
health saying he has a kidney problem—has said his new song ‘Ndinu Yemweyo’
will be out on Friday.
Banda asked Malawians and all people to buy the song, saying “the money
from the sales will help quite a lot,” especially now that he is sick and
cannot perform on stage.
The song in which Banda is thankful for healing mercies, can be bought through
MobTech music app on Mpamba and Airtel Money at K500.
“People will not access it anywhere else except through this platform and,
as such, I just want to call upon those who love music and my music to support
me by buying it,” he said.
According to him, production of the song saw him mounting a studio at his
base, with Ralph Ching’amba doing the magic while Peter Likhomo handled the
bass guitar and Mvahiwa Hanke played the lead guitar.
“It is a mature tune; it’s strictly praise and worship and I am just
talking about being healed through Jesus Christ. This is also the beginning of
my new direction,” he said.
Lucius said he had made it a point that, when he reaches 50 years, he would
concentrate on gospel music.
“Of course, most of my songs are gospel but, this time, I want to focus
more on the gospel side. I would like to thank God for keeping me alive all these
years. In the song, I am just asking God to purify me and strengthen me,” he
said.
