This year’s Nyasa Music Awards were held on Friday, May 4 2018. The host was South African entertainer Somizi. Co-host was Malawi’s very own Judith Msonthi.
Miss Msonthi is an event host and motivational speaker and she is rising at the speed of light in the business. This writer caught up with her via email on Monday, May 5 2018.
“Briefly, tell us your background as an event host?” this writer demanded to be told.
“I started hosting two years ago and I started doing it as a hobby but I really love it and I’m hoping to make a future out of it,” replied Judie.
On how it felt like that she was named co-host for 2018 NMAs, here’s what the queen said: “Well I hosted the event the previous year… so I was excited and honored to have been chosen again.”
She holds a Diploma in Journalism from Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lilongwe’s Pentecostal Life University (PLU).
As if that wasn’t enough, Judith is also founder of Judie Emcee, a business firm that provides Host, Presenter and Master of Ceremonies for corporate, social and festive events.
Her secret behind this early success is that she’s been “true to herself and puts God first the whole time.”
