The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has called for
musicians in the country to compose and record a theme song for the 2025
general elections.

In a statement MEC says, among others, the songs should be

electoral matters through the media and other appropriate and effective means

“The theme song should be one to capture the electoral mood

The hype that the so-called ‘Kingstons Reality Show’ derived,
across social media platforms, made, I am sure, so many would-be viewers
expectant of a great series of action ahead.

It was, however, not the case. The premiere aired on Times
TV last Friday did not only—I am sure—make thousands of viewers disappointed
but also mad. It was below standard.

Of course, there is a chance that this being the first episode,
the producers wanted to let the viewers know their ‘new friends’ from their own
mouths.

But is that the way to go? Those behind the Kingston’s story
should know better that good characterization is done through action, especially
dialogue, etcetera. From the very first episode, I think the show was a flop –
literary wise. We weren’t supposed to be told, we were supposed to be showed
the action.

And, after all, there was nothing new, really, to watch as
we were meant to see footages of Zeze performances, drinking parties and
NyaShonga’s office and her K3 million-Kamuzu-Academy fees loudmouth.

But I believe they still have time to improve. We just begun

The song beautifully captures the sentiments of a woman deeply enamored with a man, yet feeling unrequited in her affections.

Speaking with MIJ Online, Pondani reveals that 'This Love' reflects the story of a woman yearning for mutual love and understanding. The heartfelt lyrics convey her emotions, with lines like, 'I don't wanna be alone in this thing called love, it won't be ideal to intrude your zone... I just don't like the way you treat me like an unknown.' She paints a picture of a woman who contemplates responding to the indifference she feels by mirroring it herself.

As the song progresses, Queen Fyah expresses this emotional journey by singing, 'In this love, I'm gonna go with the flow... In this love, I stay if you wanna stay.' The lyrics encapsulate the complexities of love in modern relationships, where one partner may not fully grasp or acknowledge the emotions and needs of the other.

Queen Fyah is delighted by the positive reception 'This Love' has received from her fans. Speaking ahead of their upcoming matches against Karonga United and Chitipa United in the Northern Region, de Jongh highlighted the negative impact of playing consecutive away fixtures.

The Dutch coach, who has 33 years of coaching experience, expressed surprise and disappointment at the frequent changes in fixtures, describing it as unprofessional and detrimental to the league's overall situation. According to de Jongh, this is the first time he has encountered such scheduling in his career.

Silver Strikers recently secured victory in an away match against Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium, with a final scoreline of 2-0. However, de Jongh acknowledged that the title race is not entirely within their control.

Currently, Silver Strikers find themselves trailing league leaders FCB Nyasa Bullets by seven points, having played one more match. With 46 points from 25 matches, they face an uphill battle to catch up to Bullets, who sit at the top of the table with 53 points from 24 matches.

Furthermore, Silver Strikers are four points behind second-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, who have played one additional game. The team's quest for the 2023 TNM Super League title marks a decade-long drought since their last championship triumph.

As the Central Bankers tackle the challenge of consecutive away matches, their hopes of winning the league remain slim.
